HP 8610
Microsoft Windows XP

I can't get this Windows XP , Sp3, 32 bit, computer to print onto my nework HP 8610.

I have another slightly older Windows XP computer that will print on HP 8610 printer but that driver was installed 3 years ago.

I used to use HP drivers and Scan Doctor to get everything working, but now HP has removed that.

So i need old driver, or an old Scan Doctor, or both.

Hi @JimXoc1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding installing HP printer drivers for Windows XP SP3!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Given the circumstances that you can't use HP Print and Scan Doctor, you can manually download the compatible driver for your HP printer and install it on your Windows XP SP3 (32-bit) computer. While HP does not support Windows XP anymore, older drivers may still work for your system.

Steps to Download and Install:

Visit the HP Support Page: Go to the HP Support website.

Search for HP Officejet 8610 Driver: In the search bar, type "HP Officejet Pro 8610" and select the appropriate model from the dropdown suggestions.

Select Your Operating System: Choose "Windows XP (32-bit)" from the list of operating systems.

Download the Driver: Find the suitable version of the HP printer driver compatible with Windows XP and download it to your computer.

Install the Driver:

  • Locate the downloaded driver file on your computer.
  • Double-click on the file to start the installation process.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

Additional Resources:

  • HP Universal Print Driver: If the specific model driver is not available, you can try using the HP Universal Print Driver (UPD). The UPD is designed to work with a wide range of HP printers and can potentially resolve compatibility issues with older operating systems like Windows XP.

I hope this helps.
