Hi @EriGord,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're encountering an error while trying to update your HP OfficeJet 8015e All-In-One Printer on Windows, specifically error message 0x800f020b. This error typically indicates that there's a problem with the Windows Update component or the system files required for the update. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue.
Check Internet Connection: Make sure your internet connection is stable and working properly. Sometimes, poor connectivity can lead to update failures.
Restart the Computer: Sometimes, simply restarting your computer can resolve temporary glitches that might be causing the update failure.
Run Windows Update Troubleshooter:
- Press the Windows key, type "Troubleshoot settings", and press Enter.
- In the Troubleshoot settings, select "Additional troubleshooters".
- Look for "Windows Update" and run the troubleshooter. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Check Disk Space: Ensure that you have enough free space on your system drive. Windows updates require sufficient space to download and install.
Run DISM and SFC Scans:
- Open Command Prompt as an administrator (right-click Start, select Command Prompt (Admin)).
- Type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press Enter. Let the process complete.
- After DISM is finished, type sfc /scannow and press Enter. Let this process complete as well.
- Restart your computer after both scans finish.
Check System Date and Time: Ensure that the date and time settings on your computer are correct. Incorrect date/time settings can sometimes cause issues with Windows Update.
Check for Pending Updates: Sometimes, pending updates can interfere with new updates. Check for any pending updates and install them first before trying to update your printer.
Update Printer Driver Manually: If the update is for the printer driver specifically, you can try downloading and installing the driver manually from the HP website. Make sure you download the correct driver for your printer model and Windows version.
Hopefully, one of these steps resolves the issue for you.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for following up. I've been a little slow as I have been working on my taxes, etc. So far I have checked the HP printer and Windows update troubleshooters (the latter found an issue and corrected it), but it did not solve the problem. I'll keep working on it and keep you advised.

Hi Alden4,just want to update you on this case. Please note Windows 11 is fully updated including the optional updates. All drivers, etc are updated. Generally speaking everything is working OK, including the printer, scanner, etc., but the update printer error message persists. I have run the troubleshooter for the printer, (only suggestion is to unplug printer, etc.). Didn't help. Ran Windows update trouble shooter, which found errors, but didn't help. Ran DISM but wouldn't run - got errors. SFC scan reported no errors.
Date & time OK. I will check/reinstall printer drivers, (says they're up-to-date) as the next steps and report back.
Thanks for your help.😀
