Look, I'm bamboozled by these boards, I have no idea whether my Windows 10 is 32 bit or whatever bit .. but can anyone PLEASE help me with my deskjet printer issues??? *crying*
I have got a newish - maybe couple of years old - HP all in one deskjet printer and I've connected it to HP Instant Ink which moniters my ink use and sends me new cartridges as needed.
After initial set up, connecting to laptop, the printer worked fine - I don't keep it on/online all the time but every time I turned it on, it worked, I was able to print - yipee!!
Then - we got a new Virgin router. And all the trouble started.
Eventually, I got it to work again, after going all around the houses, between various websites, programs, diagnostics etc.
From then on, it was hit and miss whether it would work or not ...
NOW, I turn the printer on - within the last few weeks - to find it's in 'error state' - I have done EVERYTHING I can find to do.
All around the houses again.
Instant Ink account says 'connected!' ready to go.
HP Print and Scan Doctor says printer issues fixed, ready to go.
Microsoft printer diagnostics says issues fixed, ready to go.
But it's NOT - the error message is getting sent back every time I try to print.
Funny thing is - it prints all the test pages ok, wirelessly?
It just won't print anything I actually NEED?
I have no idea anymore if the issue is to do with Instant Ink (always getting please go online messages), or Virgin, or Windows or what the hell.
PLEASE can anyone help me with this?????

@icat, Welcome to HP Support Community!
This could be due to the connectivity or the drivers installed. Let us try to isolate and resolve the issue-
You may need to instead go into your router settings and try changing the channel manually. Experiment with different channels to see which one works best.
Update the printer firmware
Download available firmware updates from the HP website
With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Assign manual IP to the printer
The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.
For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers
If the issue persists, I recommend you delete the driver and root level and retry, follow the steps below:
1) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2) Select your HP Printer
3) Select Uninstall
4) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe”
8). Click on the “Drivers” tab
9) Look for the HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10) Select Ok
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12) Close Devices and Printers.
Use this link to download and install the new driver. Configure the printer.
Add a TCP/IP port.
- Print a Network Configuration Report from the Printer Settings or Wireless menu.
- Right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, click the Ports tab and then click Add Port.
- Select Standard TCP/IP Port, and then click New Port.
- Follow the instructions to add a new port using the information listed on the Network Configuration Report.
- Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi,
Try following below version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe
Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.
Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy and check.
