Hi,
I have HP Ink Tank Wireless 415. I was trying to open the printer home page on browser, but I forgot the password. I reset the wireless connection information on the printer, by pressing (wifi+X) buttons on the control panel of the printer. The wifi information stored in the printer are all gone. Now, I try to reconnect the printer to the wireless network and laptop but I failed. I uninstalled-reboot-reinstalled the drivers, I used printer doctor, I tried every thing mentioned in the support and manual, By the way, the driver was able to retrive the network information from the computer and I did not supply (SSID) or any information manually.but the network information cannot be trnsfered to the printer. I also used the USB cable as instructed and printer is working through the USB, but still cannot change the USB connection into wireless connection. Please help

Good day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I will be glad to assist you here. Superb description of the issue. Kudos to you for that.
- DId you update the printer's firmware and try again?
Let's try these steps:
- Perform a hard reset on the printer from this link: https://support.hp.com/ph-en/product/hp-ink-tank-wireless-410-series/16180953/model/16180954/documen... perform steps from the section “Step 1: Reset the printer
- Then update the printer’s firmware by following instructions from this link: https://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/c02919168
- Use a USB cable to update the printer’s firmware connecting it to a computer.
- Then restore network defaults on the printer again.
Then uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers at the root level again by following these steps:
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select OK.
- Remove all instances of the same.
- Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
- Restart the PC again.
- Then download the latest full feature driver from https://support.hp.com/ph-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-ink-tank-wireless-410-series/16180953/... and install it on the computer after selecting the correct operating system.
Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.
It is alright to install it as a USB printer and later convert it to a wireless printer.
This should fix it for you.
- If the issue persists, change it from a USB connection to a wireless one by following directions from this link: https://support.hp.com/ph-en/product/hp-ink-tank-wireless-410-series/16180953/model/16180954/documen...
- This should fix the issue.
If it persists, then assign a manual IP address and Google DNS to the printer by following these steps:
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
- Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
- Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
- Click on the radio button which says, “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
- Click on radio button which says, “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
- Restart the printer and then router once done.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂

Thank you for your patience and the efforts to try and resolve the issue. There is more to it than meets the eye.
Please perform these steps patiently:
- Uninstall the printer from "programs and features" which can be accessed by doing a right-click on the Windows button (Please have the printer Off and disconnected during uninstallation.)
- Check in device manager, if the printer is listed there, please delete it. (Right click on the Windows button to access device manager)
- Go to devices and printers, in the control panel and select any printer listed there and you will get some options on the top.
- Click on print server properties.
- You will get a popup, click on the drivers tab and delete all the HP printer drivers listed there if any.
- Delete all the instances of your printer listed in devices and printers.
- Restart the PC.
- Once the PC is on the desktop, press Win + R, it would bring a Run dialog box,
- Type %temp% in the run box and click Ok or hit the Enter button.
- It would bring up the temporary files folder. Delete the files in the folder (You might not be able to delete all the files).
- If possible, delete the printer from the registries using Regedit or using any other 3rd party application.
- Ignore the Regedit option if it cannot be done.
- Restart the PC again.
- Then create a new local user account as an administrator from this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/instantanswers/5de907f1-f8ba-4fd9-a89d-efd23fee918c/create-a-loc...
Log into the new user account after restarting your computer.
Then download the latest full feature driver from https://support.hp.com/ph-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-ink-tank-wireless-410-series/16180953/... and install it on the computer after selecting the correct operating system.
Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.
This should fix the issue.
If this does not do the trick, please download the Windows Built-in drivers by following instructions from this link: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01796879
This should work.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂

Dear David,
It seems, there is more to it than meets the eye really.
Unfortunately, I tried the steps twice, from a new user account on this laptop and from another PC.
The printer still refuses to accept the WiFi information sent to it from the computer.
I want to mention this piece of information, as I think it may be helpful. The whole problem started when I try to change some setting from the printer home page.
I typed the IP and contacting it. All settings were locked by the administrator, and it asked me to supply the user/pass.
I tried all combinations I usually use, but it did not work. When I searched the INTERNET for how to set the pass word, I found the informatino for resetting the WiFi connections (WiFi+X) buttons on the control panel. And since that, I could not connect the printer.
Do you think the printer is locked and refuces any new information about the wireless

Thank you for your reply and your brilliant efforts and patience are immensely appreciated.
Please check by installing the printer on another computer on the wireless network.
If it installs correctly, then the operating system on this computer in relation to this specific printer has an issue.
- Please backup your important data and reset the computer to factory settings. by following directions from this link: http://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c04742289
- Then download the full feature printer drivers from this link: https://support.hp.com/ph-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-ink-tank-wireless-410-series/16180953/... and follow the on-screen instructions.
This should do the trick for you.
Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and give the post a Kudos for my efforts to help. Thank you and have a great week ahead. 🙂

2- don't you think there is any problem with the printer?
3- how can I do factory rest for the printer?
Thank you
