HP Smart Tank 7605 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 11

I've recently updated to Windows 11, with a 'new' reconditioned HP Elitedesk, but HP Smart cannot find my HP Smart Tank 7605 Printer. I've been through all the steps suggested by all the ' HP Help' available, but to no effect. The PC supplier also tried to help , but concluded that it's a know problem and I should contact HP. Well, the HP Bot and other suggestions are useless, and I'm now stuck with a useless printer only 2 years old. PS it works fine with W10. I've spent days trying to sort this out......if it's a known problem, you'd think they'd have a solution

any suggestions anyone ?

@FrustratedDave3, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with connecting your HP Smart Tank 7605 Printer to your Windows 11 system. As you've mentioned that it works fine with Windows 10, it seems like there might be a compatibility issue with the printer drivers or the HP Smart app on Windows 11.

Here are a few steps you can try that might help resolve the issue:

Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed. You can download the latest drivers for your printer from the HP Support website.

Check Compatibility: Verify that the HP Smart app and the printer driver are compatible with Windows 11.

Reinstall HP Smart: Uninstall the HP Smart app and then reinstall it from the Microsoft Store. This can sometimes resolve version conflicts or errors.

Network Settings: Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the network. Sometimes, printers may have difficulty connecting due to network settings or firewall restrictions.

Troubleshoot Network Issues: Run the Windows Troubleshooter for printers. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters and select Printer.

Firmware Update: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer model. You can do this on the HP Support website.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Garp,

Unfortunately, this has made no difference

Well, I found a work around. I found an old wifi adaptor and managed to connect by wifi.

BTW the printer/PC cable is not the problem, as it works on the previous W10 PC. (I also did try a different USB port on the new pc)
