Hi @AA613

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're encountering an issue where the text appears in reverse order on the "Advanced Definitions" screen in the HP Smart app, affecting both Hebrew and English. This could be due to a display or language setting issue. Let's go through some possible solutions:

1. Check the Language Settings in HP Smart

Sometimes, language settings can affect text display, particularly for languages that use right-to-left (RTL) scripts, such as Hebrew.

  • Change the language settings in HP Smart:
    1. Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
    2. Look for Settings or Preferences in the app.
    3. Check the language settings. Make sure the correct language is selected, and if you are using Hebrew, try switching it to English or another language to see if the issue persists.

2. Check System Language Settings

Your computer's language settings could also affect how text is displayed in applications. This is especially true for RTL languages like Hebrew, which may cause text to display incorrectly if the system language is not configured properly.

  • Change language settings in Windows:
    1. Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language.
    2. Ensure your preferred language is selected (e.g., English or Hebrew).
    3. If Hebrew is selected as the default system language, try switching to English (United States) or another language to see if it resolves the issue.
  • Change language settings in macOS:
    1. Go to System Preferences > Language & Region.
    2. Change the preferred language to English or your desired language, and restart the app to see if it helps.

3. Check Printer and HP Smart App Updates

It's possible that a software bug is causing the display issue, and an update could fix it.

  • Update the HP Smart app:
    • On Windows: Go to the Microsoft Store, check for updates, and update HP Smart if needed.
    • On macOS: Open the App Store, check for updates, and update the app if necessary.
  • Update printer firmware:
    • Open HP Smart and go to your printer’s settings.
    • Check if there are any available firmware updates for your printer and install them. Updated firmware might fix display issues or bugs.

4. Reinstall HP Smart App

If the above steps don't work, there might be a bug or glitch in the HP Smart app itself. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app to fix any corrupted settings or display issues.

  • To reinstall HP Smart:
    1. Uninstall the app via Control Panel (on Windows) or Applications folder (on macOS).
    2. Go to the Microsoft Store (on Windows) or the App Store (on macOS) and reinstall the app.
    3. Open the app again to see if the issue is resolved.

5. Adjust Printer Display Settings

If the issue is not just in the app but also on the printer display itself, you might want to check the settings directly on the printer for any language or display orientation settings.

  • Printer display settings:
    1. Go to the printer's menu or settings.
    2. Look for language and display options, and make sure the settings are correct.
    3. Try resetting the display settings or selecting a different language to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

I checked the language setting in all the places suggested. Nothing changed. Truth be said, all the other pages appear properly except for this one which is very convenient for scan and print settings. Please note that the English title also appears backward and if i change the language on the page to English, the entire English page also appears backward!
