Oficejet 7310xi All in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have had this problem for a LONG time. My "Mr. Fixit" says it is a mapping conflict. My HP 7310xi printer is connected to my Windows 10 computer, through the  modem, with an ethernet cable. When I connect this computer to the internet , the printer lights up like a Christmas tree and stops responding. I was blaming it on the printer card reader but have had NO success in solving the problem.

I have the same printer connected through the same modem to my Windows 7 machiine with no problems.

I guess I spoke too soon. Tonight the z drive is back and the HP 7310xi printer is lit up like a Christmas tree again. Tomorrow I will run the fixes again, and hope they work!
