My HP Envy 6055e printed the Wi-FI Quick Start Guide beautifully, with color. Yet now it won't print. The error message says "Cartridge or Account Issue." Before it switched to that, the ink "estimated supply levels" bars showed 90% of ink in both cartridges. The cartridges are full, the printer used them with no problem earlier. Help make it recognize the full cartridges and print.

Hi @DrC2024,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 6055e is showing an error message like "Cartridge or Account Issue" and isn’t printing, despite the cartridges being full and having worked before, there could be a few different issues at play. Here’s a detailed troubleshooting guide to help you resolve the problem:
1. Check Cartridge Installation:
- Remove and Reinstall Cartridges:
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Carefully remove the cartridges from their slots.
- Reinstall them, making sure they are seated properly and securely. You should hear a click when they are correctly installed.
2. Clean Cartridges and Contacts:
- Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- Gently wipe the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water. Avoid touching the nozzles or letting the contacts get too wet.
- Also, clean the contacts inside the printer where the cartridges make contact.
3. Check for Firmware Updates:
- Update Firmware:
- Go to the HP Support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Follow the instructions to update the firmware.
4. Verify HP Account and Printer Connection:
HP Account Login:
- Ensure that you are logged into your HP account on the HP Smart app or website. Sometimes, account issues can prevent printing. Check if your account credentials are correct and that there are no issues with your HP account.
Reconnect Printer:
- Open the HP Smart app or go to the printer's web interface (if available) and verify that the printer is correctly connected to your account and network.
5. Reset Printer:
- Perform a Reset:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve temporary issues.
6. Check Ink Cartridge Compatibility:
- Ensure Compatibility:
- Verify that you are using the correct cartridges for your HP Envy 6055e. Using non-HP or incompatible cartridges might cause issues.
7. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows):
- Run Diagnostic Tool:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
8. Check for Error Messages on Printer Display:
- Review Messages:
- Check if there are any specific error messages or prompts on the printer’s control panel that provide more details about the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you. I did every single step, including downloading and operating the drivers and using the HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.7.4. The printer does not like the non-HP cartridges: the orange light on the right corner of the printer is flashing and the light bar is glowing amber. Yet before the printer refused to print, it immaculately printed the "Wi-FI Quick Start Guide" including in the colors for the HP logo, and it printed the "Printer Information Report." This tells me there is plenty of ink and the cartridges are okay. I am more prepared to take a sledge hammer to this printer and never buy HP again, than to buy HP cartridges. Is there any other options to override the rejection of the non-HP cartridges?
