Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Laserjet 1600 on a Windows 10 system that has worked well for years. I regularly use the print both sides feature from Word, and when I select both sides it automatically prints duplex.

Within the past week this stopped working. When I select print both sides in Word, only one side comes out and it waits for me to turn the page over and press a button on the printer; in effect, manual duplexing.

I clicked on printer properties within Word's print menu. On the Finishing tab the duplex printing option reads "print on both sides (manually)". It used to just be "print on both sides".

I opened a pdf file in Adobe Reader and clicked print, The print menu allowed me to auto duplex print. When I clicked on printer properties, then on the Finishing tab, it reads "print on both sides".

So this seems to be a Word problem, not a system-wide problem. Or maybe a combination.

Has anyone encountered this, and if so, can you post a fix? Thanks.
