I got a page that includes a barcode with a number below it. Printed the page and everything printed except the barcode itself. When I asked the sender about the problem he suggested that the driver might not be up to date. I used HP Print & Scan Doctor and it said my printer was up to date. But it does not print the barcode.

Sure - could be anything - "not updated" is a common comment when something is not working.

If you cannot save the content as a PDF file -- or the content saves but does not include or cannot print what you need - consider:

Display the page that includes the data you want to print.

Next

Snip to "cut out" the content from the displayed page -- Save the snipped content as an image file (.jpg) and print that file.

Snip – available since Vista! Check out the “delay” feature in Windows 10

Welcome to the HP English Community --

Printers are not aware of what they are printing --

That said, any content that is not an image must be translated to printer language --

It is likely the Barcode cannot be translated into anything meaningful to the printer.

Print and Scan Doctor implies you are using Windows.

Save the content as a PDF - Print the PDF file as an Image.

Ignore any of the following that you do not need...

PDF - Print as Image

Reinstall / Update your PDF Reader (Adobe Reader DC /Optional Foxit Reader)

  • HINT: Watch out for and UNCHECK unwanted extra software
  • Adobe Reader DC software should be installed even if you do not open / view / print PDF files directly from the software.

If the file will not print due to unusual content (odd fonts, color schemes, Tables, other oddities), print the file as an Image. Image printing does not require the printer software to translate file content.

  • Export and Save the document to your computer in PDF format.
  • Open the offending document in Adobe Reader DC
  • Click Print icon > Set other options on the menu > Click Advanced button
  • Set the printer select the colors (Optional)
  • Select Print the PDF file as an image

Example - PDF Print - Adobe Reader

Properties > Advanced > Print as Image

When I click the printer icon for the email Save as does not have the save as PDF option - list is for Webpage single, Webpage complete, Webpage html only. The barcode is in an email that includes a receipt for tickets and then 2 squares that each include a barcode that is turned in to get the actual tickets, closer to the event. I want to print those barcodes.

I told the ticket seller about this and he sent me pdfs of these barcodes as he had to last year as well. But this time he said that my printer may not have the most recent driver and I should check for an update. But HP Print and Scan Doctor says I am up to date.

Thanks for the extra info. I am not familiar with Snip, but it sounds useful. I will get familiar and give it a try.

You are welcome.

Snip is a great tool.

It is like a screenshot where you can control the boundaries and shape of the content you grab from the screen.

After you snip and save the content as an image file, it can be printed "as is" or edited to adjust the shape, etc.
