My printer is giving an error message of incorrectly installed cartridge.. I cleaned all contacts, reinstalled the cartridge several times, and still the error persists. I am able to print, and the print quality is fine.  I also uninstalled and installed all of the software and drivers, and left the printer unplugged for a day, hoping that would reset it. I have run the clean function on the print cartridges. That also did not do anything to reset the printer.

Any suggestions for next steps?

I had already consulted that document, and those are the steps I followed, three times,  These steps did not solve the problem, hence the post looking for further ideas to resolve the issue. The printer cannot be used to copy, since the input screen is locked up with the error message of "incorrectly installed printer cartridge".

Have you tried with a different cartridge?

I tried with a new cartridge also. The error message persists. Unfortunately for me. the printer is out of warranty. I would like to know how to clear the error message. It prevents me from using the copy function of my device. Interestingly, the Print and Scan Doctor tool, says that there is nothing wrong with my printer!

We could try a Semi full Reset
