c7280 photosmart printer duplex printing

HI,

i have a c7280 photosmart printer that is having trouble doing automatic duplex printing even though it has a duplex unit installed.

i ran a self diagnostic and it shows that it is installed.

the printer dialog box won't let me select the duplexer as an option.

is this a new software install?

Hi,
Make sure the Automatic Duplexing option is enabled:

Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.

Now Automatic Duplexing should become available.

thanks.  i tried this before and it was unavailable.  i retried it and now it let me select and save that the module is installed.  great.  so now when i print, a dialog box pops up saying, in essense, i've asked for automatic two sided printing but the duplexing unit is not installed.  the document will be printed single sided.  i had a choice of print or cancel.  i selected print and the document printed two sided automatically... 

there is a mismatch somewhere in the software.... 

but it is now saving paper.
