Lenovo Thinkpad

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad and I'm trying to download HP Smart for ease of scanning from my Envy 7645.   In Microsoft store, I hit the download button and nothing happens.  I've checked in the download folder and HP smart download is not there.

Store Broken?

 

You MIGHT be able to fix the Store using the inbuilt Store Reset option.

Settings > Apps > Apps and Features

Find and Left-Click on the Microsoft Store application

Advanced > Reset

 

What else?

The original question in the following example is in regards to the HP Smart application.

The answer provided by the Microsoft Community :  Re-Register the Microsoft Store

So... what - if anything - does the Store know about whether the application is installed / downloaded?

 

For those reading:

Applications that are "downloaded" from the Microsoft Store are not typical "downloads".

The Store is both "store" and "installer" for the available applications.

Yes, you can check "Downloaded" applications in the Store

 

 

Ways to Uninstall / "Get" / Check - the HP Smart Windows application

 

HP Smart – The “Smart” Printer Application for Windows 10

 

Where HP Smart is supported for your printer:

Open Product Home > Category

Software and Drivers >> Check the Box Get the App

OR

Links to HP Smart software for Windows and Mobile devices,  includes an FAQ section

NOTES

HP Start is an Application – it lives in a different part of the File System

 

Is the application already installed on your computer?

 

Windows key > All Apps > scroll down to category >

Found?

Click on HP Smart

Optional: Right-Click on the application to Pin to Start and / or Pin to Taskbar

 

Reminder:  After installing, to use the application, open HP Smart and sign into the application using your HP Account credentials.

 

HP Smart >> Remove / Install Steps

 

Settings > Apps > Apps and Features > scroll down, find, Click on HP Smart > Uninstall > Restart the computer and log in.  A new copy of the application can be downloaded / installed from the Microsoft Store (formally Windows Store).

 

Store >> Things to do / check / update ...

 

First...

Check / Adjust whether applications from the Microsoft Store update automatically

Windows key > Open the Tile for Microsoft Store

If necessary, sign into the store

Click on “See more”  (three horizontal dots )

Select Settings

 

 

Check / Adjust whether applications from the Microsoft Store update automatically

If necessary, sign into the store

Click on “See more”  (three horizontal dots )

Select Settings

  • All owned
  • Installed

OR

Options on Right side of menu > Box:

Downloads and Updates

 

Select Downloads and Updates

Click Get Updates

Check the list for a recent change in the HP Smart version (third column)

If HP Smart has been recently updated,

If you have not done so since the date / time updated,

Restart the computer and log in

 

If HP Smart has not recently updated – but is installed, find the application in

My Library > Category All owned
