Printer HP Photosmart C4390
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi,

As Flash Player is permanently disabled since the 12-Jan-2021, I chose one of the several solutions that Dragon-Fur gave me to scan a document in wifi :

The old Solution Center Scan software is located in "Digital Imaging"

C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\

OR

C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\

Double-Click on File name / executable:  hpiscnapp.exe

Now, every time I scan a document in wifi or with cable, it cannot be registered. I have tried many times to uninstall and reinstall the Full Version of Drivers and Software for HP Photosmart C4380 / 4390 All-in-One Printer, and I can read the following error message :

" there was a problem accessing your computer files and resources, try the following steps :

1) restart the computer.

2) reinstall the HP Photosmart software that came with the device.

Unfortunately I lost the cd-rom supplied with the printer.

What should I do ?

Thanks you for your help

@Olivier6

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues scanning.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

As the HP Solution Center software is based on Flash, it may not work as expected.

Here are two other compatible scanning apps, which can be used to scan your photo or document:

1. HP Scan Extended: You can Download-Save-Install > HP Scan Extended

○ If the link above does not work, copy and paste the ftp address below into your browser: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Or--

2. HP Scan and Capture: You can download and Install HP Scan and Capture app from Microsoft store. Here is the link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store

For more information on how to use this app, refer: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04675206

NOTE: You must have the HP printer driver software installed on the computer to use these apps. If you did not uninstall HP Printer driver software, then you should have it already.

OPTIONAL: Add HP Scan Extended shortcut to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start

• Open File Explorer > Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\HP Scan Extended\bin

• Right-Click exe > Select Pin to Taskbar / Send to Desktop / Pin to Start

HP Scan Extended features include (and are not limited to): Single, Multiple scans, Image and PDF scans, Email as PDF / JPEG, Source selection, Page Size choices include Auto-Detect (extracts image / document boundary).  May include OCR (Save as Editable Text).

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

P.S: Welcome to the HP Support Community 😊
