Hi @Anuragsaha88,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that you cannot see the scan option anymore when using an iPhone.

Try this step-by-step sequence to resolve the issue:

1. Switch to the New HP App:

Many users face this issue because the HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site replaces the older HP Smart app. Make sure you download and install the current app.

2. Check iPhone Wi-Fi & Local Network Permissions:

For the app to "see" your scanner, the iPhone's Local Network permissions must be enabled:

  • Open your iPhone's Settings app.

  • Scroll down and tap on HP (or HP Smart).

  • Ensure that the toggle for Local Network is turned ON.

3. Clear Printer Cache Completely:

If the app caches a faulty connection, removing the printer won't fix it.

  • Open the HP App, tap your printer at the top of the screen, and choose Forget Printer.

  • Force close the HP app on your iPhone.

  • Turn your printer off, unplug it from the wall for 2 minutes, then plug it back in.

  • Open the HP app again, tap Add Printer, and allow it to discover the device from scratch on your Wi-Fi network.

4. Update Printer Firmware:

A printer that lacks a firmware update might intermittently fail to communicate with AirPrint/HP app services. You can update this by using your printer's LCD control panel (connecting it to the internet) or by running the "Diagnose & Fix" tool in the HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
