Hi @simon324,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2700e printer is not connecting to your laptop. Let’s try a few troubleshooting steps to get it working:

1. Check Printer Power & Status

Ensure the printer is turned on and has paper and ink installed.

Verify that the Wireless light on the printer is either solid blue (connected) or blinking (in setup mode).

2. Place Printer in Setup Mode

If the wireless light is not blinking, press and hold the Wireless button on the printer for about 5 seconds until it starts blinking.

This means the printer is ready to connect.

3. Connect Using HP Smart App

On your laptop, download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store (Windows) or HP’s website.

Open the app, click Set Up a New Printer, and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi.

4. Verify Wi-Fi Network

Make sure your laptop and printer are on the same Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz band is recommended).

Avoid using a guest network or mobile hotspot during setup.

5. USB Connection Option

If wireless setup fails, connect the printer to your laptop with a USB cable.

Run the HP Smart app or HP Easy Start software to complete the setup and then switch to wireless later.

6. Restart Devices

Restart your printer, router, and laptop.

After restarting, try reconnecting through the HP Smart app again.

7. Reinstall Printer Drivers (if needed)

Go to HP Support and download the latest full-feature drivers for the HP DeskJet 2700e series.

Install them and follow the prompts to complete setup.

I hope this helps.
