Hi @angji,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet 8030 series printer isn’t listing your computer as an available destination for scanned documents, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure both your computer and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • If using a wired connection, verify that both the printer and computer are on the same network router.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and computer. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Update or Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Open the HP Smart app (or HP Scan and Capture if using Windows) and ensure the latest drivers are installed.
  • If needed, uninstall the printer software from your computer, then reinstall it. For Windows, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners and remove the printer, then reinstall from the HP website.

Set Default Scan Destination:

  • Open HP Printer Assistant on your computer.
  • Go to Scanner Actions and then Manage Scan to Computer.
  • Make sure Enable Scan to Computer is selected, and try adding your computer if it isn’t listed.

Firewall/Security Settings:

  • Some firewall settings can block communication between the computer and printer. Temporarily disable any firewall or security software on your computer to see if this resolves the issue.

Check Scan App Settings:

  • Open the HP Smart app or the built-in Windows or Mac scan app, select your printer, and check if your computer is listed as a destination.

After trying these steps, test the scan again to see if your computer is now listed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
