@3275, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble printing from your computer to your new HP printer. Let's walk through some steps to get everything working smoothly.

Check Printer Connection

  • USB Printer: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
  • Wireless Printer: Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. You can check this on the printer's control panel under Network Settings.

Set the Printer as Default

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP printer and select Set as default printer.

Reinstall the Printer Driver

Sometimes, reinstalling the driver helps resolve communication issues:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select your printer and click Remove device.
  • Then, download and install the latest driver from the HP website: Official HP® Support

Check Print Queue

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Double-click your printer and cancel any stuck print jobs.

Restart Devices

  • Restart both your printer and computer after completing the above steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
