I have HP 4655 printers in several locations that I want to be able to scan from. One got configured in HP SCAN when I installed the printer on my computer. When I'm at another location with a different 4655, I can't figure out how to configure it to talk to that one. I've searched on line and in your knowledge base without results... your doc is lousy! HP Smart can see the other printer and scan from it, but doesnt have the features of HP SCAN.EXE. How do I reconfigure it for the other printer.

Hi,
When you are at the other location, open the HP Officejet 4650 software and select the Tools or Utilities tab.
Press on Printer Setup & Software and press on Connect a New Device, then follow the steps to configure the other device.
Once you are done, you will be offered to select a device when launching HP Scan.

Shlomi

That didn't work properly... It wants to take me through a registration process at the end that requires creating an account on the HP web site that doesnt' have an option to simply sign on and register it... Never mind that this printer has been registered before...
I am an IT support person, and I"m very interested to know what technical details I might find to validate whether things have been properly set up. It seems like your software doesn't do error handling very well, and doesn't want to register the printer for me...
