Hi @MUMI17

Connecting HP DeskJet 2723e to MacOS Big Sur

If your HP DeskJet 2723e printer is not being detected by your Mac running macOS Big Sur, here are some steps you can try to connect them:

  1. Check Connection Type:

    • Wi-Fi: Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac.
    • USB: If you are using a USB connection, ensure the cable is securely connected to both the printer and the Mac.
  2. Prepare the Printer:

    • Ensure the printer is powered on and in a ready state.
    • Reset the printer’s network settings. You can do this by pressing the Wireless button (or Wireless and Cancel buttons together) to restore the network settings to default, if needed.
  3. Update Software:

    • Ensure your macOS is updated to the latest version of Big Sur.
    • Visit the HP website to download and install the latest HP Smart App or drivers for Mac, which might be necessary for setup.
  4. Use HP Smart App:

    • Download and install the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store if not already installed.
    • Open HP Smart, select your printer, and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer.
  5. Add Printer Manually:

    • Go to "System Preferences" on your Mac.
    • Select "Printers & Scanners" from the options.
    • Click the "+" button to add a printer.
    • If your printer appears, select it from the list. If not, ensure the printer is discoverable on the network and try searching again.
  6. Reset the Printing System:

    • In the "Printers & Scanners" preferences, right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and select "Reset printing system."
    • Confirm the reset, then add the printer again using the "+" button.
  7. Check Network Settings:

    • Verify that your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
    • Restart your router and reconnect the printer to the network with the correct Wi-Fi credentials.
