I have a LaserJet Pro 9015e and having an issue with the connection to my HP computer. Usint the HP Smart app, it says the "printer is offline" even though the printer is on. Both the computer and the printer are on the same wifi. Is there something i need to do?

I am sorry to hear that your HP LaserJet Pro 9015e shows “offline” in HP Smart even though it’s powered on and on the same Wi‑Fi as your HP computer. I would request you to please follow the steps:

 

Check Printer Status in Windows

  • Go to Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
  • Right‑click your HP 9015e → See what’s printing.
  • If “Use Printer Offline” is checked, uncheck it.
  • This often resolves the offline message.

Re‑Add the Printer

  • In Settings → Devices → Printers & Scanners, remove the HP 9015e.
  • Click Add a printer or scanner → wait for Windows to detect it → add again.
  • If not detected, choose Add manually → Add a printer using TCP/IP address.
  • Enter the printer’s IP address (shown on the Wireless Test Report).

Update HP Smart & Drivers

  • Ensure you have the latest HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
  • Visit HP Support → Drivers & Downloads → HP LaserJet Pro 9015e and install the latest drivers and firmware.
  • Outdated drivers often cause offline errors.

Test Direct Printing

  • Open a browser and type the printer’s IP address.
  • If the Embedded Web Server (EWS) loads, the printer is online.
  • If not, the issue is network‑side (router or Wi‑Fi settings).
