I believe my printer has lost its wifi capability.  I am trying to set it up using Ethernet cable but it will only allow me to set up using WiFi.  IDK what to do

@Brenda1978, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding connection issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Based on your description, it seems that you are encountering connectivity issues with your HP Neverstop Laser MFP 1202w printer. If the printer is not able to connect via WiFi, you can try setting it up using an Ethernet cable following these steps:

Ensure Ethernet Connection: Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the printer and the other end to your router or network switch.

Check Settings:

  • Go to the front panel of your printer.
  • Tap Settings at the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap Advanced setup > IP settings > OK > Manual.
  • Enter the IP address, subnet mask, and the gateway provided by your network administrator.

Install Printer Software:

  • On your Windows 11 computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a printer.
  • Select Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer.
  • Choose your printer from the list or enter the printer’s IP address.

Network Configuration Page:

  • Print the Network Configuration Page from the front panel:
    • Tap the preferences icon () > Internal Prints > User Information Prints > Network Configuration Page.
  • Check for the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway on the printed page to ensure proper connectivity.

Fixed IP Address

If your printer frequently loses its IP address due to DHCP configuration, you can set a fixed IP:

  1. Go to Settings > Advanced setup > IP settings.
  2. Select Manual and enter the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
