How can I change the settings to keep my printer connected to the same network my chromebook is connected to? I have to switch between the two networks in order to print.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,  I have gone through your post and would like to help

Please ensure the printer has the latest Firmware. Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Next, assign a Manual IP Address

  • 1) Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
  • 2) Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
  • 3) Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
  • 4) Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
  • 5) Click Manual IP
  • 6) If you see a Suggest a Manual IP Address button, click Manual IP address, and the Manual IP addresses are automatically filled out for you.
  • 7) If your page does not have a button to suggest a manual IP address, type the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway using the numbers shown in the report you printed.

Also, disable the IPV6 Address:

  • (1) From a computer connected to your network, type the IP address for your printer into the URL field of your Internet browser.
  • Note: To get the IP Address Print a Network Configuration Page
  • - To print a Network Configuration Page - Press the Wireless button ( ) and the Information button ( ) at the same time.
  • (2) Click the Network or Networking tab, and then open the section or page for your network type: wired or wireless.
  • (3) Select Enable IPv4 only (or similar)
  • (4) Click Apply and then wait until the changes are confirmed.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
