Hi,
I want to use the scanner in my brand new HP deskjet 2620.
I click the shortcut "HP DeskJet 2600 series" on the desktop to start the HP printer assistant software.
I click "print, scan & fax" icon (I use the swedish version so it's "Skr ut och skanna")
see this video https://support.hp.com/nz-en/document/c03466081
The "print" option is available but the "scan" option is missing so I can't scan.
My brother has the same scanner and he has the scan option in his installation.
I have tried reinstalling the software multiple times and using the hp scan doctor which didn't help.
I have installed the full feature software.
If this isn't fixed I have to return the deskjet 2620 aio.
Hope you can help.
Regards

Hi @OF70
Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.
I understand that you are unable to scan from your HP Deskjet 2620
I could help.
Are you able to make a Copy directly from the Printer?
Please uninstall all the Printer Drivers from Root level
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Restart your computer and Printer, download the Full Feature Software from Here and follow the onscreen instructions.
Note: Only connect the USB cable when prompted during the installation
Try Scanning and let me know how it goes.
Thank you. 🙂

Hi KrazyToad,
I used the DJ2600_Full_WebPack_43.2.2474.exe to re-install as I have a deskjet 2620. (not an officejet 2620).
Many thanks for excellent support. This makes all the difference. Keep up the good work.
As my brother has the same printer, is it possible for me to print to his printer when visiting his house? Can I install his printer in windows as well even though the same model? How do you do it?
Have a nice day.

Hi @OF70
I'm glad you were able to get this issue sorted out.
Yes, you will be able to print to his Printer but you need to get your Notebook configure and connected to the same Wireless Network as his Printer. You will need to install his Printer and configure it to get your Notebook and his Printer connected to the same Network.

Thank you. 🙂
