Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Update software from Vista to Win 7 but can't find a printer driver for my Deskjet D4260. HP doesn't list one.

 

Any help out there?

Uh? Those is a few years old! No longer a problem for me, of there was one as I can't remember?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP forum.

Can you download and install the FULL feature printer software from HP for your operating system:

http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-d4200-printer-series/2510769/model/251077...


Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to use your printer.

I'll check it out. When I looked through the support site earlier, they only had a driver for Vista.

No joy! It loaded 10 programs that I don't want but the printer driver failed!

Upgraded laptop to Win 7. No driver. Tried to install HP driver and it failed four times, even after following HP advice to update Win 7 first, to uninstall and reinstall the driver, and desperately trying the original software disk for the printer.

 

Now, the printer runs on my second Win 7 laptop, so it might be hardware specific problem.

 

Any thoughts?
