To fix the "Microsoft XPS Document Writer & Microsoft Print to PDF port conflict" error (often associated with error code 0x0000011B), reset the virtual printer features and reconfigure your default printer in Windows.[ref_1, ref_2, ref_3]

Step 1: Disable and Re-enable Windows Features

  • Press Windows Key + R, type control and press Enter to open the Control Panel.[ref_1]
  • Go to Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off.[ref_1]
  • Uncheck Microsoft XPS Document Writer and Microsoft Print to PDF, then click OK and restart your computer.[ref_1]
  • Return to the same window, re-check both features, click OK, and restart your computer again.[ref_1]

Step 2: Fix Your Default Printer Settings

  • Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices (or Devices) > Printers & scanners.[ref_1, ref_2]
  • Turn off Let Windows manage my default printer if it is turned on.[ref_1]
  • Manually select your actual physical or network printer as the default—do not leave Microsoft XPS Document Writer or Microsoft Print to PDF set as your default printer.[ref_1, ref_2]

Step 3: Restart the Print Spooler Service

  • Press Windows Key + R, type services.msc and press Enter.[ref_2]
  • Scroll down and locate Print Spooler.[ref_1]
  • Right-click Print Spooler and select Restart.[ref_1]

Step 4: Run the Printer Troubleshooter

  • Open Settings > System (or Privacy & Security) > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Run the Printer troubleshooter and apply any recommended fixes.[ref_1]
