I am having difficulties installing drivers o n network computers at work. There is an error of bad digital certificate or incorrect certificate. I have browsed into the printer IP and installed the Self-Signed CA Certificate. I can now browse without the security issues. Still cannot install the printer correctly as it shows as an unspecified device.

How do you get around this issue?

thanks

@th0034, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To be able to assist you better, I would like to know the following:

  • May I have the exact model name of the product? Refer to this document for steps to find the product details. Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.
  • Are you downloading the full-featured software from the HP website?
  • Have you tried any built-in drivers?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks TEJ,

I am having difficulties with all of our HP printers; we have many HP LaserJet Flow MFP M527 models that are installed on a print server. I have installed certificates for all of the HP printers and  can now browse into them bypassing the security message. I have problems installing the drivers on the local computer connecting \\printserver\printer. It errors saying the certificate was not signed or incorrect or  something like this. I can install these printers locally by IP address and the driver details show as printqueue.inf. This also allows me to see the true picture of the printer. Does the signed certificate come over to the local machine when installing from the print server or will it have to be installed on the local computer also?

Sorry for the late reply.

T.I.
