Hi @wards459

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand you need to setup the printer using regular cartridges. Not to worry, I will help you get a resolution to resolve the issue.

We need to perform a few steps to make the printer accept regular cartridges and bypass the requirement for setup cartridges.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer, and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions.

Follow the reset instruction to initialize the printer with regular cartridges.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile name, or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Regards,
