I tried to downgrade my Officejet Pro 8620 from the FDP1CN2022AR firmware to the one currently on your site (1910A)

However, every time I try to do this I am unable to select the printer to downgrade the firmware. I imagine this is probably because the current available firmware cannot downgrade the printer.

Is there a way around this or do I need to use a different tool?

I'm stuck with the work if I don't have solutions I'll throw away the printer and buy a printer making sure it's not produced by HP

I have the same problem with my HP Officejet Pro 8620 printer.

Is it possible to repost one of the earlier download links for the firmware downgrade ?

I would try this. Open the firmware update utility file with 7-ZIP

Open the highlighted folder and extract the .ful file to a usb stick formatted to FAT32.

Insert that stick into the usb port on the front of the printer and wait for a USB icon to show up. Touch that icon and you should see several options, one of which should be "upgrade detected". Touch that icon to apply the firmware.

I cannot guarantee this will work as I do not have an 8600 series to test it on, but based on other models it should.

Hey Repairatrooper

thanks for your answer.

I tried your way but without any success.

The only options that are displayed when I insert the stick are "print pictures" and "scan to stick".

All the procedures I tried with the firmwares I found in www failed up to this point. I'm not sure if I downloaded the correct one to be honest. But there are no others available and the download links in other posts to this theme don't work anymore.
