I have a Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer Series G510 and I would like to make it compatible with my MacOS Monterey 12.7.5. operating system. Are there drivers available to make this printer work with my laptop and iPhone?

Hi @KimFleming,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To make your HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer Series G510 compatible with MacOS Monterey and your iPhone, you typically need to install the appropriate drivers and software. Here’s how you can do it.

MacOS Monterey (for your laptop):

  1. Check HP Website:
    • Visit the HP Officejet 4500 G510a-f Printer Drivers page on the HP Support website.
    • Enter your printer model (G510) and search for drivers compatible with MacOS Monterey (12.x).
  2. Download Drivers:
    • Download the latest MacOS drivers available. Make sure they are compatible with MacOS Monterey (12.x).
  3. Install Drivers:
    • Once downloaded, open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers.
  4. Connect Printer:
    • Connect your HP Officejet 4500 printer to your Mac using a USB cable or set it up over your local Wi-Fi network if it supports wireless connectivity.
  5. Configure Printing:
    • After installation, your Mac should recognize the printer. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, and click the "+" button to add your printer. Follow the prompts to complete the setup.

iPhone (for wireless printing):

To print from your iPhone to the HP Officejet 4500 printer, you can use AirPrint if your printer and iPhone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network:

  1. Enable AirPrint:
    • Ensure your HP Officejet 4500 printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone.
    • Open the document, photo, or webpage you want to print on your iPhone.
  2. Print Using AirPrint:
    • Tap the share icon (usually a square with an arrow pointing up) in the app you want to print from.
    • Tap "Print" or "Print with Printer".
    • Select your HP Officejet 4500 printer from the list of available printers.
    • Adjust any print settings and tap "Print" to send the print job to your printer.

By following these steps, you should be able to use your HP Officejet 4500 printer with MacOS Monterey on your laptop and print wirelessly from your iPhone using AirPrint.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
