When I put the SD card in to download some pics after clicking on the import icon on the computer it starts to show that pics are being downloaded then stops/freezes. I then can't hit on cancel have to close out of pics and click on again then click on import again only to have to repeat process many times before pics will download. Did this with my old printer as well and now doing the same with HP Envy 5055.

- Have you connected the SD card to the PC?
- As I understand you are trying to copy the images from the SD card to the PC. Is that correct?
- Kindly send a screenshot of the issue for better assistance in your next post.
Keep me posted.

I just realized I don't need the new printer on because the SD card goes into the PC! My older Canon used to have a slot in it for the SD card. So my problem is with the PC downloading pics to the PC. The printer isn't involved anymore! Duh! ; ) I posted a pic of the screen when it freezes up, When the pics are loading into the monitor depicted in the pic below it just freezes and it wont let you use the cancel at the bottom you have to close out of it and start over again and again, until finally after many tries it will allow you to upload pics to PC. That's as clear as I can make it! Thanks! ; )

Thank you for the information. So you are trying to copy photos from an SD card to the PC and it gets stuck.
Install updates using HP Support Assistant
- In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
- Check for updates.
- If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.
Also, check for any pending windows update.
One simple method is to, go to 'My computer' > open the SD card > Select the photos you want to copy to the PC or press 'Ctrl+A' key to select all.
Open the destination folder where you need to copy these photos > Right-click on the empty space > Paste.
For more info on transferring the photos from a card to the PC, refer to this document.
Let me know how this goes.

None of the above helped! : ( Put SD card in PC and open pictures and click on Import from USB...screen shows pics being downloaded to PC/Monitor (as shown in pic) then freezes!
What usually happens is the pics keep moving across towards monitor (in below pic) then it opens another window with all the pics where I can choose the ones I want then import! It wont let me use the cancel at the bottom. I have to close out of pictures and try again and again until eventually after many tries it completes the process and I can choose the new pics I just took. Very frustrating! thanks!
