Hi @Jules_007

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It looks like you're trying to get your HP Envy 6020e working correctly with your Chromebook running ChromeOS and you're facing issues with drivers. Don't worry—I'll guide you through how to resolve this!

First, let’s address the driver concern:

ChromeOS and Android Drivers: ChromeOS and Android do indeed share some similarities in terms of driver architecture, as ChromeOS can run Android apps. However, printers typically use different drivers on ChromeOS than on Android, and for ChromeOS, HP printers generally do not require drivers in the traditional sense.

HP Print Support: ChromeOS natively supports printing through Google Cloud Print or CUPS (Common Unix Printing System) for printers like the HP Envy 6020e. The printer doesn't require specific drivers for ChromeOS in most cases because Google Cloud Print is built into ChromeOS for many printers.

Here are the steps you can follow to try and get your HP Envy 6020e working properly with your Chromebook:

1. Ensure Printer Is Set Up Correctly

  • Ensure that your HP Envy 6020e is set up properly and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromebook.
  • You can do this by following the setup instructions that came with your printer to ensure it’s connected to your network.

2. Add Printer via ChromeOS Settings

  • Open Settings on your Chromebook and go to "Advanced" at the bottom.
  • Select "Printing" and then "Printers".
  • Click "Add a Printer".
  • Your HP Envy 6020e should automatically show up under Available Printers if it’s connected to the same network as your Chromebook.
  • Select your printer, and it should add without requiring additional drivers.

I hope this helps.
