If your HP LaserJet M140w printer is connected but says "Driver is unavailable," follow these steps to fix it:
Uninstall the Existing Printer Driver
- Press Win + R, type appwiz.cpl, and press Enter.
- Find HP LaserJet M140w in the list, right-click it, and choose Uninstall.
- Restart your PC.
Remove Printer from Devices
- Open Settings → Devices → Printers & scanners.
- Click on HP LaserJet M140w, then select Remove device.
- Restart your PC.
Download & Install the Latest Driver
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Search for HP LaserJet M140w.
- Download and install the Full Feature Software and Driver for your operating system.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Manually Add the Printer (If Needed)
- Open Settings → Devices → Printers & scanners.
- Click Add a printer or scanner → The printer that I want isn't listed.
- Choose Add a local printer → Use an existing port (USB001 or your printer's network port).
- Select HP LaserJet M140w from the list or Have Disk to browse to the driver you downloaded.
Check Windows Updates
- Go to Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates.
- If Windows finds a driver update, install it.
Restart Print Spooler (If Issue Persists)
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click it, and choose Restart.
Try HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
