Says its expired I'm unable to locate an updated driver all was working well until a few days ago. It is connected to the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi etc printer tells me its all working well, but the lap top instruction says its driver has expired I've tried to locate a replace or fix to no avail. Hi @Brandy205,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
When your HP Deskjet driver expires or flags an unavailable error, a driver/software glitch is usually the culprit rather than the printer hardware.
1. Download the Latest Driver Directly:
Instead of relying on Windows Update, grab the full feature software directly from HP.
- Visit the Official HP® Support.
- Enter your exact HP Deskjet model name and select your Operating System.
- Download and run the setup utility.
2. Remove and Reinstall the Device:
A corrupted registry or Bluetooth/Wi-Fi cache can sometimes trigger the "expired" warning.
- Unplug the printer from your laptop's USB if connected via cable, and ensure the wireless or Bluetooth connections are on.
- Go to your laptop's Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select your Deskjet and click Remove device.
- Restart both your laptop and your printer.
- Re-add the printer via the Add device button or by utilising the HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site to establish a clean Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection.
3. Update via Device Manager:
You can force Windows to fetch the freshest compatible driver.
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Printers category, right-click your Deskjet, and choose Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers.
I hope this will help.
Take care and have a good day.
