Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you sold your printer, canceled your subscription, and now need to remove the printer from your account so the new owner can set it up. Let’s go through a few steps to make sure the printer is fully unenrolled and released.

Remove the printer from your HP account
Sign in to your HP account and open the Devices or Printers section.
Select the printer and choose Remove, Delete, or Unenroll if the option is available.

Confirm Instant Ink cancellation is complete
Open the Instant Ink section of your account and verify the plan shows as canceled.
Make sure the printer no longer appears as an active device under any subscription.

Sign out of the HP Smart app on all devices
Open the HP Smart app on your computer and phone.
Sign out of your HP account to ensure the printer is no longer linked locally.

Perform a factory reset on the printer (important)
On the printer control panel, restore factory defaults or reset all settings.
This clears Wi-Fi, web services, and any account association stored on the printer itself.

Turn off HP Web Services / ePrint (if accessible)
From the printer menu, disable Web Services if the option is available.
Restart the printer afterward to apply the change.

Power cycle after reset
Turn the printer off, unplug the power cord for 60 seconds, then plug it back in.
This ensures the reset completes fully.

Verify the printer no longer appears in your account
Sign back in to your HP account and confirm the printer is no longer listed.
If it is gone, the new owner will be able to add it to their own account.

I hope this helps.
