Having multiple problems with this printer--(won't print text in any program, unless I change the color to blue-- though it prints its product information page perfectly in crisp, bold black, and will print a blank PDF form but not any text I add to it--won't scan, etc.) Has plenty of ink, no issue with print heads/cleaning. Tried deleting and reinstalling the printer, then tried to update firmware in an attempt to at least be able to print. Downloaded the most recent firmware update, and when I ran it, it did not locate the printer. The printer is on line....
Any ideas?
Thank you

Hi @MADOY,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
When you encounter issues with your HP ENVY 6055e printer, such as not printing text in any program, problems with scanning, and firmware update issues, it can be frustrating. Here are some steps and troubleshooting tips to help resolve these issues:
Troubleshooting Steps:
Ensure Printer Connectivity:
- Double-check that your HP ENVY 6055e printer is connected to the same network as your computer. For troubleshooting purposes, you might consider connecting it via USB directly to your computer if possible.
Restart Printer and Computer:
- Turn off your printer and computer, then power them back on after a minute. This can refresh the connection and clear temporary issues.
Verify Printer Status:
- Check the printer's control panel for any error messages or warnings. Resolve any issues indicated on the printer's display.
Check Network Settings:
- Ensure that the printer's wireless settings are correctly configured. You may need to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network or update its network settings.
Update Printer Firmware Manually:
- If the automatic firmware update doesn't detect the printer, you can try manually updating the firmware:
- Visit the HP Support website.
- Enter your printer model (ENVY 6055e) and locate the firmware update file under the "Drivers" or "Software" section.
- Download the firmware update file to your computer.
- Follow the instructions provided in the firmware update documentation to manually install the firmware on your printer.
Reset Printing System (Mac):
- If you're using a Mac and encountering printing issues, you can reset the printing system:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list sidebar, then choose Reset printing system.
- After resetting, re-add your printer and try printing again.
Kindly check the next set of steps in the next post.

Hi @MADOY,
Please find the next set of steps below.
Check Printer Settings:
- Ensure that the printer settings (such as paper size, paper type, and print quality) are correctly configured in the print dialog of the application you're trying to print from.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing and scanning issues.
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
Perform Printer Troubleshooting:
- Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose and resolve common printer issues. This tool can help identify problems and provide solutions.
Additional Tips:
Check for Ink and Paper: Even if ink levels appear sufficient, try replacing the ink cartridges or ensuring that the paper tray is correctly loaded with the appropriate paper.
If you've tried these steps and the issues persist, contact HP Phone Support for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
