New printer--display shows error code xd8077900 Kernal_exec_st --not affecting performance since pressing power button makes it go away but it is a PITA especially since it was the subject of a 1-hour+ trouble-shooting session with 2 HP techs

Hi,

From your printer screen tap Setup > Network Setup > Advanced Settings and turn off IPv6, then the error should no longer appear.
