@RickR11, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding WPA/WEP Key for HP ENVY 4500 Printer Setup!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
To connect your HP ENVY 4500 printer to a wireless network, you'll need the network's WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) or WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) security key. Here's how you can find this information:
Router Label:
- Most routers have a sticker on the side or bottom that includes the default WPA/WEP key.
- This key is usually labeled as "WPA Key," "WEP Key," "Wireless Key," or "Password."
Router's Web Interface:
- Open a web browser on a device that is already connected to your network.
- Enter your router's IP address in the address bar (common IPs are 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1).
- Log in with the administrative credentials (often found on the router label or manual).
- Navigate to the wireless settings section to find your WPA/WEP key.
If You Can't Access the Router:
- Contact the individual who set up your network or your Internet Service Provider for assistance.
Using the Embedded Web Server (if applicable):
- If your printer is already connected to a network, you can use its Embedded Web Server (EWS) to find network information by accessing the network config page.
Once you have the WPA/WEP key, proceed with the printer setup using the Wireless Setup Wizard on your HP ENVY 4500 printer. Follow these steps:
On the Printer:
- Go to the printer's control panel.
- Open the Wireless Settings menu.
- Select the Wireless Setup Wizard.
During Setup:
- When prompted, enter your network's WPA/WEP key.
Finalizing Setup:
- Complete the prompts on the printer's display to finish setting up the wireless connection.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
