Hello,
I connected a computer via wi-fi to my printer. When I was finished the printer screen offered an update which I think was HP Officejet 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Printer -H711n Firmware Update1545A. I accepted it. Now my printer screen reads "the printhead installed is not intended for use in this printer, or is damaged". Pushing the "Show me" button on the screen plays a printhead removal video that is not for my printer. When the printer is turned on that same screen appears and nothing can be done except watch the wrong video.
How do I uninstall the firmware, or other solutions?
Thanks, greg

Hi @gz52,
Thank you for joining HP Forums.
This is a great place to get support, find answers
I understand that there an issue with the printhead.
No worries, I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Is this the first time you are trying to set the printer?
Are you using genuine HP Ink cartridge?
Resetting the printer can reset the connection to the printhead and clear any error messages.
-
Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
-
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
-
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
-
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
-
Wait at least 60 seconds.
-
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
-
Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
-
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Keep me posted, how it goes!
If the information I've provided was helpful.
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

Not sure if you understood the original poster. The issue is with the firmware update and wants to know how to UNINSTALL or roll back the firmware update.
I am also having issues with the newest firmware update. Now when I print someething I can no longer tell the priner to print in BACK INK ONLY. This has me very upset, because this is one of the reason I bought this printer upon recommendation from a friend !!!! I need to print in black ink only. Why would this option be taken away??? Sounds like a scam so I waste ink and have to buy it more often 😞 I need to roll back the firmware update. How do I do that ?
