Hi @Rheinhesse63,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you've forgotten the admin password for your HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 Wide Format All-In-One Printer, you can try to perform a factory reset on the printer to regain access to the settings. Please note that a factory reset will erase all the customized settings and return the printer to its default configuration, so you may need to reconfigure it after performing the reset.

Here's how you can perform a factory reset on the HP OfficeJet Pro 7720.

  • Turn on the printer if it's not already on.
  • Make sure the printer is idle and not printing any documents.
  • On the printer's control panel, press the "Back" button several times until the main menu is displayed.
  • Use the arrow buttons to navigate to the "Setup" menu and select it.
  • Navigate to the "Service" or "Tools" option (the exact wording may vary) and select it.
  • Look for the "Restore Defaults" or "Factory Reset" option and select it. Confirm that you want to reset the printer.
  • The printer will reset to its factory default settings. It may take a few minutes to complete this process.
  • Once the factory reset is complete, you should be able to access the printer's settings using the default admin username and password, which are usually "admin" for both the username and password.

After you regain access to the settings, it's essential to set a new admin password and configure the printer according to your preferences to maintain security and functionality.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
