If you're encountering an error when trying to access Preferences for your HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer, here are a few steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

Restart Devices

  • Power off your printer and computer.
  • Unplug the printer from the power source for 60 seconds.
  • Restart your computer and plug the printer back in.

Reinstall the Printer Driver

Corrupted or outdated drivers can cause issues with accessing preferences.

  • Go to the official HP support page for your printer: Official HP® Support
  • Click on Software and Drivers.
  • Download and install the Full Feature Software and Drivers for your operating system.

Check for Windows Updates

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Install any pending updates and restart your PC.

Try Accessing Preferences from a Different User Account

Sometimes, user profile corruption can cause issues. Try accessing the printer preferences from a different Windows user account.

Use HP Smart App/HP App
