Hi @mweiser,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Changing the email address on your HP ENVY 7640 E-All-In-One Printer for scanning purposes may require updating the settings in the HP printer software on your computer. Here are the general steps to help you change the email address and enable scanning to email.

Update Email Address on Printer:

Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Open a web browser on a computer connected to the same network as your printer.
  • Enter the printer's IP address in the address bar. You can find the IP address on the printer by navigating to the printer's control panel and selecting Network or Wireless settings.

Log in to EWS:

  • If prompted, enter the username and password for the EWS. By default, the username is usually "admin," and the password is left blank. However, you may have set a custom password.

Navigate to Scan to Email Settings:

  • Look for a "Scan to Email" or similar option in the EWS menu.

Update Email Address:

  • Locate the section where you can update the email address. Enter the new email address and any other required information.

Save Changes:

  • After updating the email address, save the changes.

Scanning Documents to Email:

Now that you've updated the email address, you can use the HP printer software on your computer to scan documents to email.

Ensure the Printer is Connected:

  • Make sure your printer is connected to the same network as your computer.

Install HP Printer Software:

  • If you haven't already, install the HP printer software on your computer. You can download the latest software from the HP website.

Open HP Printer Software:

  • Open the HP printer software on your computer.

Select Scan:

  • Look for an option like "Scan" or "Scan to Email" in the software.

Choose Scan to Email:

  • Select the "Scan to Email" option, and follow the on-screen prompts to configure the scanning settings.

Scan Document:

  • Place the document in the scanner and start the scanning process.

Email Settings:

  • Confirm or update the email settings if prompted.

Send Scan:

  • Once the scan is complete, you may be prompted to enter the recipient's email address. Enter the desired email address and send the scanned document.

By following these steps, you should be able to update the email address on your HP ENVY 7640 printer and scan documents to your new email address.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
