macOS 12.0 Monterey

My printer has been printing great in pinks, yellows, and oranges but when I print blues and greens it doesn't come out the way it looks on my computer.

Hi @cg128,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP printer is having color accuracy issues, especially with blues and greens on macOS 12 Monterey. This usually relates to color profilesink levels, or driver settings.

Here's How to Fix It

1. Check Ink Levels

Even if other colors print fine, low cyan or magenta ink can distort blues and greens.

  • On your printer’s control panel or via the HP Smart app, check ink levels.
  • Replace any low cartridges.

2. Use the Correct Color Profile

macOS uses ColorSync to manage color profiles. If the wrong profile is applied, colors may shift.

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer > Options & Supplies > Utility > Open Printer Utility.
  • Look for Color Options or ColorSync settings.
  • Try switching to “Vendor Matching” or “Generic RGB Profile”.

3. Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver

Outdated drivers can cause color rendering issues.

  • Visit HP’s official site:
    👉 Official HP® Support
  • Download and install the latest full-featured software or HP Easy Start.

4. Print a Diagnostic Page

This helps confirm if the issue is with the printer or the file:

  • On the printer, go to Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report.
  • Check if blues and greens appear correctly.

5. Try a Different App

Sometimes the issue is with the app you're printing from:

  • Try printing the same image from PreviewPhotos, or HP Smart.
  • If colors look better, the issue may be with the original app’s color handling.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
