To install a driver for your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus, you can use an assisted method or use a downloaded driver file. Here is a step-by-step guide for both methods that you can follow depending on your situation.

How to Install a Driver (Assisted) on Windows

Select Add additional printer or printer driver:

Add additional printer or printer driver.

Add the IP or select the Model name and version:

Add printer manually.

Select the printer that you want to add based on your model:

Select the printer that you want to add.

Choose between custom or easy installation:

Select driver and software installation.

Queue created and driver installation complete:

Driver installation complete.

How to Install a Driver (.inf) on Windows

Download the driver (.exe) from HP support: You can download the latest driver from support.hp.com.

Double click on the downloaded file to start the extracting process:

Start extracting process.

Open the Windows Control panel and select View devices and printers:

Select View devices and printers.

Click Add a printer:

Add a printer.

Select The printer that I want isn’t listed:

Select The printer that I want isn't listed.

Select add IPP, TCP/IP based:

Select add IPP; TCP/IP.

Add the printer using the IP you gathered or manual entry of hostname:

Add a printer using IP address or hostname.

Select install a new driver from where prompted:

Select install a new driver.

Go to Have Disk; browse to the location of the .inf file and select it:

Go to Have Disk.

Driver has been successfully installed:

Driver has been successfully installed.

After following these steps, your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer should be successfully installed and ready to use.
