I have a e58650 laserjet and the hdd gave up. So now i bought another hdd and trying to install it. I did the harware instalation, and then i inserted the usb with the latest firmware . I did disc partial clean, and disk format. Then loaded the firmware. All good so far. Then i press continue from the boot menu and i get in to the 8 steps loading precedure. At the step no4 the procedure stops and i get an error 98.00.02 ! I have no clue what else i have to do
Both the usb stick and the hard drive are formated on fat32 , and i have cheked that the new disc works perfctly fine when i plug it in my pc... i need some help

Did you install the original HDD purchased from HP or a standard computer HDD?
The original HP HDD has security encryption on it; you can't install any computer HDD.
What firmware version are you trying to install, version futuresmart 4 and 5 can only be installed on original HP HDD, you can try for testing purposes to install futuresmart 3.

Thank you very much for your reply. I used a simple sata 2.5 inch hdd, but before that i called HP technical assistance and asked them if there are any special requirements for the hdd and they said nothing special needed. I will try the futuresmart 3 version and i will post here the results

The Future Smart 4 and Future Smart 5 require an encrypted HDD from HP for installation.
The Future Smart 3 can be installed on a computer disk, but the level of security is way lower than on 4 and 5, and the visual appearance of the front panel on 3 looks older compared to 4 and 5.
