That is an older printer -- generally these tend to be stable or fail outright.

One thing that can cause odd permission errors is a "slight" mis-match of paper size / type detected (set) at the printer (Tray and Paper) as compared to the paper size / type set in the job configuration (setup).  Although this is generally considered a fatal job-stopping error, a minor mis-match might trigger a message that requires you click "OK" (or similar) to Continue the job.

Another "permission" error source can be having lost the proper permissions on the Temp folder where jobs are sent while active.  These are generally fatal -- that is, if the Temp folder's permissions are set incorrectly (or lost by the system after having worked in the past), the job fails instead of sending anemic messages requesting an OK or other help.

Windows can send spurious messages -- "permission" messages might indicate a problem with the destination (folder for scan, for example).  Again, Destination errors are generally enough to stop the job outright.

If you want nothing more than to disable "pop-ups", disable messages for one, all, or a number of apps in Windows.   Settings → System → Notifications
