@Seekerstone, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

When replacing your HP OfficeJet 8025e with the HP OfficeJet 8135e, you have a couple of options depending on your preference and use case:

Keeping Both Printers Installed:

  • Advantages:
    • Allows you to use both printers if needed.
    • Provides a backup in case one printer experiences issues.
  • Steps:
    • Simply connect the HP OfficeJet 8135e to your system.
    • Install the necessary drivers and software for the new printer.
    • Make sure to set the HP OfficeJet 8135e as the default printer if desired.

Uninstalling the HP OfficeJet 8025e:

  • Reasons to Consider Uninstalling:
    • Free up system resources and reduce potential driver conflicts.
    • Simplify printer management if you only plan to use the new printer.
  • Steps:
    • Go to your computer's Control Panel.
    • Navigate to 'Devices and Printers.'
    • Right-click on the HP OfficeJet 8025e and select 'Remove device.'
    • Install the drivers and software for the HP OfficeJet 8135e.

For most users, it's perfectly acceptable to leave the HP OfficeJet 8025e installed if you may occasionally need it. Just ensure that the HP OfficeJet 8135e is set as the primary or default printer if you plan to use it more frequently.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
