I purchased HP Smart Tank 7602r. I use windows 11. I set it up using HP smart for printing IA and pictures. The margins were fine and fixable if not. Now after a few days, I am unable to adjust any margins with the on or off. When printing actual pictures using word, the margins are huge no matter what adjustments I make. Then if I try to print word through HP Printing, the margins are hardly noticeable. If I pull a picture through from a file, I still cant adjust the margins, trying portrait or landscape.
I have looked up settings for windows, adjusted, no difference. I have tried to remove the HP smart print and re-nstall, not difference.
Please help, this is my business, and I need to work.
Thank you

Hi @Stnana
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP Smart Tank 7602r is struggling with margin adjustments, which can be frustrating—especially when it affects your business. Since you've already tried reinstalling HP Smart, let's go through some HP-based troubleshooting steps that might help.
Step 1: Check Printer Preferences in Windows 11
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP Smart Tank 7602r and select Printing Preferences.
- Look for Paper Size & Margins settings and ensure they match your intended print layout.
- If margins seem locked, try switching to Borderless Printing (if available).
Step 2: Adjust Margins in HP Smart App
- Open HP Smart and go to Print Settings.
- Select Advanced Settings and look for Margin Control.
- If the option is missing, try printing from HP Universal Print Driver instead.
Step 3: Use HP Universal Print Driver
Some users have reported better margin control using HP’s Universal Print Driver:
- Download it from HP’s official site.
- Install it and set it as your default printer.
- Try printing again and check if margins are adjustable.
Step 4: Reset Printer Settings
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
- Restart the printer and reconnect it to your computer.
Step 5: Check Windows 11 Driver Compatibility
Some users have reported that Windows 11 updates replace HP drivers with generic ones, which can cause margin issues. To fix this:
- Open Device Manager and locate your printer.
- Right-click and select Update Driver > Browse My Computer > Let Me Pick.
- Choose the HP Smart Tank 7602r driver instead of a generic Windows driver.
Try these steps and let me know if the issue persists! We’ll get this sorted so you can focus on your work.
