When my black cartridge ran out, there was a backup mode that allowed my color cartridges to print in black. Now that I have a new black cartridge, it is still using colors to print black only. How do I turn off this backup mode?
(FYI...its not set to grayscale anywhere, etc.) Its a printer thing as it does it from my mobile phone and my Windows computer.

Yes I am sure. The option popped up on the printer to continue printing black using color cartridges and I accepted it. Now everything continues in black with a new black carrridge replaced.
I need to know how to take it out of this mode on the printer.

Sorry, I wrongly understand your opening post.

Use Black Ink Only? or Use Color Ink Only? – one of the cartridges is out of ink, but you can continue printing for a short time using the other cartridges. You can print either in grayscale or in composite black. You must replace the cartridge soon. This message might not appear in some cases, depending on how you print.
You can try to reset it to factory settings if you are not getting that option back.

That is what I did...black ran out, used color cartridges to print black to continue for a bit. Now inserted a new black cartridge, and everything still prints black. How do I get this temporary condition to go away and back to normal?
Surely this is not just a factory reset only? But If so, how?
