many thanks for your help i Betty,

i followed your instructions to the letter but unfortunately with the same result ..no print.

im not sure that my printer came with an installation disc (even if it did the drivers would probably be

out of date)

I really appreciate your help and instuctions which worked perfectly. However after 2 weeks of trying i feel the 1512 (probably obsolete) will be resigned to the recycle bin with thanks to m/soft 1809 upgrade wiping my laptop (recovered) and ruining a perfectly servicable hp printer.....thank you again for your help

regards

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Are you able to make a copy?

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

hello Betty,

Thank you for your reply i must apologise for the entry i made indicating that the printer was working and pressing the

"solved button".

The instuctions you gave me were spot on, alas to no avail, the printer sill refuses to print.

I feel there must only be one more option for me to try...... a replacement intallation disc ! and start again from scratch.

I have searched in vain to aquire one for my model . Would you know where i can get the cd/dvd i need?

sorry again for any misunderstanding, and thank you again for your help

Unfortunately, we do not ship out discs anymore. The drivers as available on the disc are available online.

You can uninstall the software once again and install the Windows built-in drivers:

Keep me posted 🙂

good morning,

Thank you for your reply and advice which i have taken and applied .

it seems as though i have 'inched' nearer the solution.

I can print all diagnostics

scan+print

align +print

clean cartridges ect

when i send a test page i can see the document in the the queue briefly then it disappears as if it`s printed but it hasn`t.

there are no paper jams nothing in the queue, no warning lights, ink is fine still not printing.

any ideas?

thanks again for your advice and patience
